John and Emlyn's baby girl

This quilt is all finished and ready to go to the baby shower! :) I'm starting to feel like I'm keeping up. Of course it is much easier to make a baby quilt than a king or queen.

Camping quilt top

The top is done! Two days until the baby shower, not sure if I'll get it quilted tomorrow, but here it is so far.

When you look at the close up of the fabric you can see the tent.

Square in a square by Jodi

I bought a book, ruler and DVD a few years ago to make the square in a square block. The idea is that it is more accurate and fast. The speed isn't really true because of needing to do the extra step of cutting but if you struggle piecing blocks the accuracy may be what you need. I would rather just stick with the AccuQuilt system. The downside with AccuQuilt is that the size cannot be adjusted without buying more die cutters. Everything has pluses and minuses.

First cut.

Second cut.
It has taken about an hour to cut each stack of 17 and 18 blocks. That's a total of two hours just for this step. A big plus is that the square is on point, but the edge of triangles are on the bias. Great use of the rotating cutting mat. Now to sew the blocks together.

Sean Kirby Richard

Sean's baby quilt wasn't finished before he was born but as you see it isn't anything to wrap a newborn in. Sean was born on May 28, 2016.

TWO Wedding Quilts

For their wedding Jacqueline and Christopher picked out the pattern and fabrics. The pattern is Winding Ways, it was a struggle at first but not so bad after making several blocks. The quilt was given to them on: April 2, 2016 rather late for a wedding gift. They were married on July 25, 2015. It's a queen size.

Queen sized.

At least I got it done before Sean was born! ;)

Mary and Nick were married on October 10, 2015

Their quilt was actually finished before Jacqueline and Christopher's

The center pattern came from a magazine and I created the borders to make it a queen size quilt.

Nick is pointing to the Courthouse Step block. I put that in because he is studying law.

Taking Flight for Jocelyn Roesler These are not the real blocks, just a rough idea so I could plan the setting. The real blocks are from a B...
